A Recap of the Evergreen Habitat’s Women Build 2024 Luncheon and Auction

On Saturday, December 7, Evergreen Habitat for Humanity hosted its annual Women Build Luncheon and Auction at the Royal Oaks Country Club. The event brought together a community of passionate women united by a common purpose: to support affordable homeownership for women in Clark County. It was a powerful reminder of the impact of collective action and the importance of empowering women to take a step toward homeownership.

This year’s luncheon focused on raising funds to support women’s housing initiatives, providing resources and opportunities to build safe and stable homes. In a room filled with energy and shared intention, attendees connected with one another over a sharedcause and heard inspiring stories of perseverance, resilience, and hope.

One of the most poignant moments of the luncheon came when Niccole Fuller, a Habitat homeowner of one of the VHA Rehab Homes, shared her journey to owning a home. Niccole, accompanied by her son Cyrus McClain, spoke movingly about the hardships she overcame and the dreams that kept her going.

Niccole’s story highlighted the challenges many women face in securing affordable housing and the transformative impact homeownership has on families. Her determination to build a better life for herself and her family was a testament to the strength and resilience of women everywhere.

In addition to Niccole’s powerful story, the program also featured personal stories from Evergreen Habitat’s Homeownership Services team. The team's efforts go beyond just providing homes—they are building futures, offering a range of services to help families through the application process, homeownership education, and support as future homeowners progress in the program. It was clear from the luncheon how their dedication continues to make a difference in the lives of individuals and families in Clark County, inspired by their own housing experiences.

What made this event so powerful was not just the incredible stories, but the sense of solidarity among the women in the room. As the women of Clark County came together to support the mission of Evergreen Habitat for Humanity, it was a moment of connection—one that showed the strength of women supporting women. Together, they raised vital funds that will help build homes, offer resources, and provide hope for women across the community.
